After the success of The Lego Movie, Lynn Wang and I were brought in to work with Warner Bros Animation and The LEGO Group to develop the look, characters and story of the new Unikitty! animated series. From there, the two of us served as the series’ Co-Executive Producers.
Along with writing and directing many episodes ourselves, Lynn & I also oversaw every aspect of production and lead an incredibly talented in-house team of almost 50 crew members to deliver 104 11-minute episodes in just under three years.
The series premiered on Cartoon Network in 2017 and has enjoyed international success among male and female audiences, both as an on-screen property and as a brand-new line of LEGO toy sets, many of which were directly influenced by my and Lynn’s early development work.
